Del Fuego is a locally owned & operated restaurant serving the New Orleans community since 2014. We pride ourselves on fresh, from scratch Mexican inspired fare & fresh-squeezed cocktails, using local seafood & ingredients whenever possible from the Crescent City Farmers Market & Covey Rise Farm. We also use Earth-friendly products such as pasta/eco straws & compostables whenever available & we partake in recycling & composting food waste. We serve only 100% blue weber agave tequila, artisan mezcals & sotol, "the desert spoon." Del Fuego offers indoor & patio dining, takeout & delivery.


"Fine Dining" Dave Wright is a professional chef with over 30 years of culinary experience in California & New Orleans.

Dave grew up in St. Helena, California in the heart of Napa Valley, where a love for food and drink, especially Mexican cuisine came naturally. His love for Mexican food started early. Each year, at his request, Dave’s mother prepared a Mexican feast for his birthday. In high school, he would wait at the back door of the local bar, Ana’s Cantina, for tacos & burritos to go. His first trip of many to Mexico at age 14 helped solidify his love of all things Mexico.

In 1998, he relocated to New Orleans from Napa Valley where he worked as sous chef for Jaime Shannon at Commander’s Palace as well as local legend Austin Leslie & Jacques Leonardi at Jacques Imo’s. In 2006-2010 Dave was the banquet chef at New Orleans Country Club. In 2010, he helped friends and Kingpin owners Steve Watson and Ben Sherman open the successful Freret St. eatery Midway Pizza. He opened his very own Del Fuego in 2014.

The people, climate, culture and cuisine always have him looking forward to his next trip. This love and his desire to share it are the driving force behind Del Fuego.
